SOCCER
PRACTICE
weekly practice
Future Stars started as a Soccer/Football ministry, and that is still our core work today. A couple of times a week, we organise practice sessions for our players, split into different age groups. We provide boots for our players, and after around 45-minute practice sessions, we have a 10-15 minute teaching where the coaches share stories or anecdotes that inspire the players to make wise decisions and become responsible role models in their communities. Afterwards, we organise a match with special focus on the drills just taught. Once the game is over, we hand out fruit and the kids go home.

Once a week, the players split into their age groups, come to our facilities to participate in Life Skill groups. In these groups, the kids get to play, eat a light meal and receive teachings. The teachings are interactive and encourage input and feedback throughout the sessions, providing an expansive and active learning experience for the players.

Matches
Regularly we organise friendly matches for our players against other youth teams in Cape Town. In preparation for the games, the team gels together and becomes united ahead of their challenges. We also participate in tournaments where possible. In these cups, the players get to meet kids from all over Cape Town and attempt to perform on a bigger stage and hopefully impress. Not only in performance but also in behaviour and sportsmanship, which is equally important
A big highlight for both the kids as well as the coaches every term. A lot of bonding and laughter is shared during
these experiences, and we
leave encouraged and closer
to each other after each outing.
A day where the kids can
truly be kids!

NUTRITIOUS MEAL

Once a quarter, we do a fun activity in the form of an outing. The kids can then experience the vast beauty of Cape Town in many new ways. It can vary between hiking Table Mountain, visiting different beaches to going to trampoline parks
and minigolf courts.
